Skills and Drills February 2nd and 3rd 2018

January 28, 2018 NewslettersSkills and Drills

Right off the bat we need to say thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who showed up for the indoor range work bee. We had a medical emergency right at the start of the day and everyone responded superbly, we cannot thank you enough for that everyone. And, after that, well, we pounded out the indoor reno in record time. Hopefully the new rubber blocks work out better than the sand, it’s going to be an interesting experiment for sure.

Pulling Bullets and Decapping Dies

January 22, 2018 NewslettersSkills and Drills

Just a quick note for people who are out there pulling messed up bullets this winter. If you use a kinetic puller you need to buy the Shim Fit combo from Quinetics Corp. Best $10 you’ll ever spend on reloading equipment, it allows you to quickly and easily pull bullets without needing to completely remove the cap from the puller. visit https://www.quineticscorp.com/ and order a set for each of your kinetic pullers.

Another new item (to me) is the Mighty Armory universal decapping die. What a beast. Best made decapping only die on the market in my opinion. If you ever run your press to just process brass you need this die. check out www.mightyarmory.com

Indoor range rebuild

January 20, 2018 NewslettersSkills and Drills

So, our rubber blocks have arrived and we will be doing our range rebuild this coming weekend, Saturday, and if need be, Sunday. We will provide tyvek coveralls, masks/respirators and gloves for everyone who can attend, start time is 9am Saturday January 27th on the indoor. We’ll be shovelling material out of the backstop into a Bobcat bucket, tearing the wood down and putting it in the dumb bin, then replacing the sand with rubber blocks, and installing the new wood on the front. I’m hoping this can be done in one day, but it is a lot of work. Please let me know ASAP if you can make it. This counts towards work bees for those who are members and of course can help with the waitlist if you are wanting to be a member.
